Little Daily Doses
If our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart. And equally, if our heart flatters us, God is greater that our heart. I sometimes pray not for self-knowledge in general but for just so much self-knowledge at the moment as I can bear and use at the moment; the little daily dose. ~ C.S. Lewis
The mystery of the heart. It condemns, it flatters, but rarely does is get it right.
I’m so thankful that God doesn’t turn my entire insides out for me to see all at once. Just as much self-knowledge at the moment as I can bear and use at the moment; the little daily dose for which I am grateful.
Grace in abundance!

thank you! I have been silently saying in my Heart “God doesn’t give us more than we can handle…” over and over again for a month now.
YOU sum it up beautifully.
thank you! xxx Jen
Dearest Jen –
How my heart has been aching for you. You’ve been daily, often, in my prayers even though I haven’t been able to get on line to tell you.
I know He’s sufficient for you. But sufficiency doesn’t mean that He takes away the pain – only that He carries it as He carries you.
You remain, always, close to my heart,

so true… and really great to hear from you. God bless.
Hey there MT!
Finally got a placement again, but once again, limited internet. I look forward to catching up with you as soon as I can.

“turn my insides out” a clever phrasing of words to help us understand
Hello pb – I’ve all but lost my internet for a couple of weeks and weak it is still, but I’ll be over soon.

Thank you. A dab’ll do ya! Truly, if you keep that prayer or thought in your head/HEART … you can’t go wrong. It’s like living in the middle, WITH Grace … assistance. Thanks again, sweet woman. mel
Dearest mel –
Isn’t it wonderful how He carefully administers little daily doses of revelation but lavishes us with grace beyond measure!
Thank you for journeying along here with me.
You continue to be in my prayers as your heart aches for Harper.

I love the comfort and grace in this. Thank you, dear Debbie! God bless you and show you just what you need today . .. especially how very much He loves you!
Dear Debbie –
Your warm words and prayers were perfectly timed. Thank you, my new friend.

The hardest part is after He shows us and we think: Now, at last, I am finally all exposed and He is about to fix the last broken thing, and then I will be all fixed.
And then He takes us for yet another test run. A-a-ah. Not quite, never quite perfect. Sighs.
katharine – isn’t that the truth… never quite… that’s the grace of little daily doses!
~ Debbie
So very true! God never gives us more of anything than we can handle…not even ourselves! Thank you Jesus!
Dear jelillie – Amen! So well said! Thank you, my friend!
